BMW’s top-selling crossover, the X5, is getting a major styling makeover for 2019, will be larger than its predecessor with extra passenger and cargo room, and offer an off-road package for the first time in a light truck marketed by the German luxury brand.
The X5, one of the industry’s top-selling midsize luxury crossovers, will also be equipped with available new features such as a four-zone air conditioning system and a panoramic glass roof that is 30 percent larger, BMW said Tuesday.
The 2019 X5 will be available in two variants, xDrive 40i and the xDrive 50i, when it is launched in the U.S. in November.
The fourth-generation X5 xDrive 50i’s 4.4-liter V-8 engine has a peak torque of 479 pound-feet that propels the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
The xDrive 40i’s 3.0-liter, inline-six engine has a peak torque of 330 pound-feet and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds.
